Heimat – Walter Georgi

Walter Georgi (1871 – 1924) was born in Leipzig. He studied art in Leipzig, Dresden, and Munich, where he was an early contributor to both Jugend and Simplicissimus. He was at the center of the artists’ associations “Group G” and “der Scholle.” He later was a member of the artists’ colony at Holzhausen am Ammersee in the Bavarian Alps; and he died there in 1924.
