When School Began – As We Remember it – Fred Richardson

Frederick Richardson (1862 – 1937) was an American cartoonist and illustrator who was a mainstay of the Chicago Daily News, where he drew noted full-page, detailed illustrations and decorations. He was a major poster artist during the American Poster Renaissance. He also contributed to St. Nicholas magazine and illustrated early works of L. Frank Baum.
